Program Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of the program, the learner will be able to:

1. Fill prescriptions/medication orders to ensure completeness, accuracy, authenticity, and safety.
2. Apply federal and state laws pertaining to medication processing, handling, and dispensing.
3. Maintain industry standards of quality control in the workplace.
4. Uphold ethical and legal standards regarding the principles of patient confidentiality within the health care and community environment as defined by HIPAA.
5. Apply verbal, nonverbal, and written communication principles within a team setting.
6. Demonstrate professionalism through acceptable attitude, punctuality and time management skills. 
7. Identify the top 200 medication brands, generics and the correlating classifications.
