Gain skills and knowledge to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair a variety of automated electro-mechanical, product assembly, process control, and product distribution systems that use programmable controls and other methodologies to accomplish system management. These systems include robotic, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and electronic devices. Through this degree, graduates will gain the skills to define, integrate, install, program, and maintain complex control systems; and will gain the communication, problem-solving, and professional skills needed to be successful in this field. The Automated Industrial Technology courses are designed to prepare students for the National Institute of Metalworking Skills (NIMS) certification exams.

Career Options: Employment as an Automation Engineer Technician, Electronics Assembly Technician, or Maintenance and Instrumentation Technician in the manufacturing, defense, energy/utility, mining, or healthcare industries.
Academic Options: While this program was not designed to transfer to a 4-year university, it may apply toward a Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) or other programs.
