MLS 200 - Army Leadership Dynamics I 3 Credits, 3 Contact Hours
3 lecture periods 0 lab periods
Foundations of tactical leadership strategies and styles. Includes development of attributes and core leadership competencies of Army rank, structure, and duty. Also includes personal motivation and team building through planning, executing, assessing team exercises, and leadership sessions.
Prerequisite(s): MLS 100 and MLS 101 .
Information: Course offered in cooperation with the University of Arizona. Field trip may be required to Ft. Huachuca, AZ. Prerequisite may be waived with consent of instructor.
Course Learning Outcomes
- List and describe all branches of the Army in essay format.
- Demonstrate proficiency in land navigation and orienteering.
- Plan and conduct military briefings.
- Describe the eight troop leading procedures.
- Associate the linkage between Troop Leading Procedure (TLP), the Military Decision Making Process (MDMP), and the Operation Order (OPORD).
- Demonstrate knowledge of tactical movement under different mission, enemy, terrain and weather, troops and support available, time available, civil considerations (METT-TC) scenarios.
- Define Warrior Tasks and Battle Drills.
- Explain the Purpose of Offensive Operations.
