ACC 200 - Computerized Accounting I 3 Credits, 3 Contact Hours 3 lecture periods 0 lab periods
Fundamental accounting applications using commercial applications software. Includes commercial accounting program modules, accounting projects, electronic spreadsheet as the accounting tool, and accounting information on the Internet.
Prerequisite(s): ACC 105 , ACC 150 (or concurrent enrollment in ACC 150 ) and CSA 110 (or concurrent enrollment in CSA 110 ). Information: Prerequisites may be waived with consent of instructor.
Course Learning Outcomes
- Utilize correct terms to describe basic computer components, operations, and managing of files.
- Utilize a commercial accounting program and demonstrate the functions of the accounting modules, including backup procedures, general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory, and payroll.
- Plan, set up, and utilize an accounting system for merchandising and service companies to record transactions and produce reports.
- Build electronic spreadsheets to solve a variety of accounting problems.
