ESL 080CM - Intensive Academic Oral Communication III 4 Contact Hours, 4 Credits 4 lecture periods 0 lab periods
Prepares non-native English speakers for certificate and degree programs by developing the academic and English language skills needed to succeed in higher education. Includes the development of lecture comprehension skills, note-taking strategies, and effective discussion and oral presentation skills at the high-intermediate level.
Prerequisite(s): Placement into ESL 080CM or completion of ESL 070CM . Recommendation: Concurrent enrollment in an ESL Reading and Vocabulary course (RV) and an ESL Writing and Grammar course (WG) according to previous course completion or ESL assessment test score. If any recommended course is taken, see a financial aid or Veteran’s Affairs advisor to determine funding eligibility as appropriate. Information: Prerequisites may be waived with consent of instructor. See an ESL instructor for details.
