                  WRT 101HC - English Composition I: Honors   3 Contact Hours, 3 Credits   3 lecture periods 0 lab periods 
 
  Principles and practices of college-level writing. Includes critically reading college texts, writing college-level essays using a variety of strategies, practicing diverse writing processes, using research effectively, and engage in critical and construction reflection.
  Prerequisite(s): Requires both Reading and Writing prerequisites. Writing: Completion of WRT 090  with an A, ESL 080WG , or placement into WRT 101 . Reading: Completion of REA 091  or placement into REA 112 . Information: Course intended for students interested in an Honors experience with WRT 101. Consultation with the instructor and/or advisor/counselor is recommended before registering. Honors Content may include: Intensive research using highest standards and best practices for the discipline, and a significant number/variety of readings of both primary and secondary sources. Also may include a high-quality, peer reviewed paper or project in a format appropriate for the discipline with research presented in class or to a wider audience.
