WRT 102 - English Composition II [SUN# ENG 1102] 3 Credits, 3 Contact Hours 3 lecture periods 0 lab periods Continuation of WRT 101 . Includes critically reading, analyzing,
and discussing college texts; writing analytical and critical
college essays; and developing college-level academic research
skills. Also includes writing a research essay.
Prerequisite(s): WRT 101 , or WRT 101S or WRT 101SE Gen-Ed: Meets AGEC - ENGL; Meets CTE - Options.
Course Learning Outcomes
- Analyze a variety of texts with regard to context and form.
- Practice writing processes including prewriting, drafting, revising, peer reviewing, editing, and proofreading to produce college-level essays.
- Incorporate a variety of primary and secondary research materials in an academic research essay using the techniques of quotation, paraphrase, summary, and documentation.
- Compose texts using appropriate technology to develop academic literacy.

- Locate and evaluate a variety of primary and secondary research materials and write an academic research essay using the techniques of quotation, paraphrase, summary, and documentation
- Locate resources using academic databases, library research, and other in-depth, cresible sources to support claims
- Compose college-level academic essays and a final academic research paper of 7-10 pages using MLA and/or APA citation format
- Produce polished academic texts of at least 3500 words with a minimum total semester output of 7000 words
- Compose texts using appropriate technology to develop academic literacy
- Identify, evaluate, and utilize credible academic digital sources
- Use technology strategically with a clear purpose to enhance writing for the audience
- Adapt writing for changing electronic environments
