MUS 141 - Piano Class I (Majors) 1 Credits, 2 Contact Hours 0 lecture periods 2 lab periods Beginning instruction utilizing group and individual practice with electronic pianos. Includes scales, chords, repertoire, technique, practice habits, transposition of single-line melodies, and sight reading.
Course Learning Outcomes
- Perform and play major and natural minor scales in tetrachord form as clusters.
- Identify and play major, minor, augmented, and diminished triads in root position.
- Perform repertoire representative of various styles and pianistic challenges.
- Perform transposition of simple pieces.
