HIT Medical Records Achievement


In large health care systems medical records specialist maintain all the data of their healthcare facility. Medical Records Specialists work with paper records, electronic medical records (EMR) and other electronic systems with responsibility for checking data for accuracy and translating it into codes. This career filters information, using only what is required, and directing the data to correct channels for processing. Medical coders and billers are focused on billing; a medical records specialist is responsible for maintaining other details of a patient’s medical records and may also do coding and billing.
