Program Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of the program, the learner will be able to:

  1. Describe how learners grow and develop, recognizing that patterns of learning and development vary individually within and across the cognitive, linguistic, social, emotional, and physical domains.
  2. Apply understanding of individual differences and diverse cultures and communities to ensure inclusive learning environments that enable each learner to meet high standards.
  3. Create safe, respectful, culturally responsive learning environments to support learning, positive social interaction, active engagement, self-motivation, emotional well being, and self-determination.
  4. Use knowledge of general and specialized curricula to create meaningful, accessible learning experiences, inform instructional decisions, and ensure content mastery for diverse learners.
  5. Promote metacognition, self-regulated learning, engagement, critical thinking, creativity, and problem solving using relevant content, divergent perspectives, and technological tools.
  6. Utilize multiple methods of assessment and data sources to guide educational decisions, monitor learner progress, and engage learners in goal setting and analyzing their own growth.
  7. Plan and adapt instruction that supports every student in meeting learning goals by drawing upon knowledge of content areas, curriculum, differentiation, learners, and pedagogy.
