PimaFastTrack: Automotive

A combined lecture and lab experience prepares students for entry-level employment as an automotive technician performing basic automotive service and repair. Students are trained in shop safety, service fundamentals, repair order writing, repair-time calculations, service information retrieval, and professionalism. Students will perform hands-on tasks that include, but are not limited to, learning how to perform vehicle inspections, replace all the fluids in the vehicle, repair suspension system components, such as axles and struts, change water pumps, operate coolant and transmission flush machines, repair tires, and perform basic brake system repairs.

Program learning outcomes

Upon successful completion of the program, the learner will be able to:

  1. Use, repair and maintain machines and tools used in automotive industry
  2. Problem identification and solution skills.
  3. Notice detail, follow-through.
  4. Work well with others and customer service skills.
