Product Test Specialist

This program is comprised of lecture and lab coursework that prepares the learner for an entry-level position as a product test specialist. The learner will gain hands-on experience with industry-standard tools and test equipment used to evaluate product functionality. Acquire troubleshooting skills for both analog and digital systems, a system-level understanding of how electronic circuits and communication systems work and function together, and learn how to document and report tasks related to testing, performance, and compliance with quality standards.

Program Learning Outcomes: 

Upon successful completion of the program, the learner will be able to:

1. Demonstrate an understanding of Ohm’s Laws, and other fundamental circuit principles
2. Demonstrate an ability to design, analyze, and troubleshoot digital circuits 
3. Demonstrate an understanding of semiconductor devices such as diodes, transistors, and MOSFETs. 
4. Demonstrate proficiency in measuring voltage, current, resistance, and other electrical parameters. 
5. Demonstrate an ability to troubleshoot and test communication equipment, including hardware, transmitters, and receivers. 
6. Demonstrate problem-solving and critical-thinking skills while troubleshooting various electronic systems.
