Laboratory practice performing phlebotomy and capillary collections, including proper order of draw, labeling, and specimen handling. Includes study of basic storage, transportation, and processing. Also includes proper laboratory conduct and safety.

Course Learning Outcomes
  1. Demonstrate proper techniques to perform venipuncture and capillary puncture.
  2. Demonstrate safety procedures, infection control, sterile practices, proper antiseptic technique, and proper use of personal protective equipment.
  3. Demonstrate the correct order of draw, multi draw, syringe draw, and blood cultures.
