PHY 121RC - Introductory Physics I Recitation 1 Credits, 1 Contact Hours (1 lec.)
Taken concurrently with PHY 121IN . Facilitated discussions, discrete study groups, and collaborative problem solving provide more thorough discourse on classroom concepts and theory. Introduction to general physics for programs requiring a one-year, non-calculus based physics course. Includes the nature of physics; linear motion and kinematics; dynamics; work and energy; and linear momentum. Also includes rotational motion; heat; states of matter; and waves and sound.
Prerequisite(s): With a C or better: completion of MAT 187 or MAT 189 , or required score on the Mathematic assessment test. Corequisite(s): PHY 121IN Information: Pass-Fail only. Students receiving a grade of C in MAT 187 or MAT 189 will be required to enroll in PHY 121RC course concurrently; for students with a grade of B or higher in MAT 187 or MAT 189 , the PHY 121RC course is optional, but highly recommended. Please be aware that if this course is not applicable toward your program of study, it is not eligible for the calculation of Federal Student Aid.
