ART 265 - Furnace Glassblowing I 3 Credits, 5 Contact Hours (2 lec., 3 lab)
Introduction to the elements, tools, and basic principles of furnace glassblowing. Includes the glassblowing studio and cold working shop orientation, paperweights and solid glass forms, the blowpipe, cold working glass, a final project, and visual literacy and critical analysis.
Recommendation: Completion of ART 100 before enrolling in this course. If any recommended course is taken, see a financial aid or Veteran’s Affairs advisor to determine funding eligibility as appropriate. Information: Consent of instructor is required before enrolling in this course. This course requires a substantial special fee through Sonoran Glass School.
