Learn how to handle and clean glass and optical elements, standard protocols for cleanliness and handling, and basic rules for working in an optics or related high-tech industry. Learn common bonding and assembly methods.
Course Learning Outcomes:
- Demonstrate how to handle, inspect, and clean optical elements
- Interpret and verify optical drawings
- Understand cleanrooms, ESD safety, and laser safety, and their importance in the workplace
- Learn about common adhesives, how they are cured and used, and common problems
- Assemble an optical system, verify performance, and witness the effects of errors
