UELE 251A - Electronic Measurements 24 Noncredit Contact Hours 14 Lecture Hours 10 Lab Hours
Application and operation of common electronic and electrical test instruments including: oscilloscopes, analog and digital multimeters, digital counters and signal sources. Transducers, amplifiers, and filters, as they apply to instrumentation systems. Laboratory reports and documentation are emphasized.
Course Learning Outcomes:
- Discuss standards used in electronic measurements.
- Define the types of errors made in measurements on physical systems.
- Describe and discuss manufacturers` specifications for test instruments.
- Show the operation of the test instrument with the aid of block diagrams.
- Obtain accurate and meaningful measurements using oscilloscopes and meters.
- Apply signal conditioning to a transducer source.
- Use basic transducers.
