UAPT 207 - Basic Welding for Nonwelders Procedures and techniques in welding includes GMAW, SMAW, FCAW, oxyacetylene arc and oxyacetylene steel welding, welding machines and polarities, positions, filler metal identification, oxyacetylene and plasma cutting and air carbon arc. Also includes safety and environmental practices, welding terminology, arc and oxyacetylene welding equipment.
Course Learning Outcomes:
- Practice welding safety.
- Use welding terminology to describe procedures, techniques, machines and polarities.
- Identify proper handling and assembly of arc and oxyacetylene welding equipment.
- Apply the correct filler metal and electrode to the arc and oxyacetylene welding processes.
- Demonstrate oxyacetylene flame cutting procedures, welding positions, hand and track torch techniques, hand plasma and air carbon arc cutting and gouging techniques.
