UAFM 101 - Noise, Vibration, and Harshness


Skills and knowledge required to pinpoint Noise, Vibration, and Harshness (NVH) related concerns to a vehicle system. Characteristics and aspects of NVH, use of NVH diagnostic tools and equipment, and repair methods.

Course Learning Outcomes:
  1. Evaluate noises, vibrations, and harshness-related malfunctions in wheel/tire, engine, and driveline systems.
  2. Assess causes of and solutions to vibrations associated with wheel and tire systems.
  3. Analyze wind noise and water leak sources, causes,and diagnostic and repair methods.
  4. Diagnose NVH concerns using Ford’s VMS system and associated tools.
