MAT 097 - Intermediate Algebra 3 Contact Hours, 3 Credits 3 lecture periods 0 lab periods
Intermediate Algebra focuses on solving various types of equations, including linear, quadratic, root, rational, absolute value and 2 x 2 systems of linear equations. The foundational skills associated with root and rational expressions are taught in the context of solving equations, and the foundational skills of inequalities are taught in the context of linear and absolute value inequalities. The foundational skills of graphing are taught in the context of lines.
Prerequisite(s): ICS 081 or satisfactory score on the Mathematics assessment test. Corequisite(s): MAT 092LB Recommendation: This course is designed to prepare students for MAT 151 and MAT 187 .
