AJS 225 - Criminology 3 Credits, 3 Contact Hours 3 lecture periods 0 lab periods Survey of the nature, extent and control of crime and delinquency. Includes comparison of theoretical and practical approaches to causation, prevention, punishment and treatment, and current problems.

- Evaluate specific criminological theories as applied to crime.
- Generalize social interpretation and theory pertaining to the commission of crime.
- Write reports, case briefs, policy papers and/or problem-solving papers; demonstrating mastery of English grammar, spelling, syntax and composition. Competency 1.1
