ART 128 - Digital Photography I

4 Credits, 6 Contact Hours
2 lecture periods 4 lab periods

Introduction to digital photography emphasizing the technical, aesthetic issues, and its historical context in visual culture. Includes camera controls, file formats, lenses, depth of field and shutter speed effects, proper exposure, basic lighting set-ups, elements of composition, digital editing, digital printing, portfolio preparation, visual literacy, and critical analysis of digital photography.

Recommendation: Adobe Photoshop experience is recommended but not required before enrolling in this course.
Information: Professional photographic equipment, including cameras, are available for check out during the semester. Professional quality computers, software, printers, and lighting equipment will be provided for specific assignments.
