As Pima Community College embarks on an exciting new era of opportunity, I want to assure prospective and current students, internal and external stakeholders, and Pima County’s wonderfully diverse communities that we remain committed and focused in fulfilling our Mission: to “empower every learner, every day, for every goal.”
Effective July 1, 2023, I am serving as the College’s Acting Chancellor. The College’s Governing Board appointed me to the position after the departure of Chancellor Lee Lambert. As Acting Chancellor, my charge is to promote an orderly transition and continuity of leadership while the Board chooses an Interim Chancellor and begins a thoughtful, inclusive search for a permanent Chancellor.
My ongoing position at Pima is Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. As Provost, it is my job – my privilege, actually – to ensure that Pima remains a premier community college, with high-quality programs and services. The Office of the Provost’s Vision is a pledge to provide equity-minded leadership for all academic endeavors in order to meet the needs and expectations of our diverse learners.
Students should know that wherever you are on your education journey, we can take you further, whether your goal is transfer to a bachelor’s degree-granting school, or learning skills that lead directly to a meaningful job.
Everyone should know that beyond student success, Pima is committed to community engagement; diversity, equity and inclusion; and responsible stewardship of public resources. We remain committed to ensuring that every learner can realize their personal vision of the American Dream through the power and promise of higher education.
